Music and what it brings to the soul.

Demo by National Park Radio <click here to listen to six tracks,(note: if you click on the sound wave or the orange arrow next to the title demo it will play all six songs for you).

I have always enjoyed music as far back I as I can remember, being a kid I remember some of the best songs from way back in the late 60s, 70s, 80s, and to present day. I never have been limited to any one artist or type of music, my soul desires more than that. The talent that comes from the artist , the sound, the lyrics, and the style in which they play or perform. Above is one example of a group of young men from the south in Arkansas writing the songs and performing them for crowds all over the USA. You can find songs from them on facebook, soundcloud.com, YouTube, and some other song networks. They have a good folk sound and they’re family men that do this for the love of the music, it is what their souls desire them to do.

When I first found these guys I played a song called December for Little Miss, she was only about four or five months old, and she was dancing in her seat to the song. I video taped it and sent it to one of the band members via facebook and these guys got a kick out of it. They came to Colorado a few months later, but I was not able to get off work to go see them perform. I have seen them via YouTube and I will someday see the live. One of the band members went to CU in Boulder, CO. so they come back here at least once and awhile to perform for the college kids.

Please check them out on the soundcloud, youtube, and facebook you might even get a free song download from one of the places.

WordPress & Facebook Junkie

WordPress & Facebook Junkie

A few years ago I was deep into blogging, but I had to stop for it was taking up to much of time. I found Facebook to be a means to add things that I was interested in but many people will not take the time to read more than a few words on it. It is a fast way to express oneself, but at what cost? I do like the fact that I can use both of them as tool to voice my thoughts and opinions. One thing I do not understand is why more people are not using WordPress that are on Facebook? WordPress is a great tool that allows you to do more of self expression than that of just Facebook alone. I decided to start blogging again with idea that I will keep most of my postings to a three or four paragraph limit most of the time.

Start your own blog with WordPress.com

For those of you that are Facebook junkies like myself, if you decide to start blogging I want you to know it is very easy and free if you use WordPress.com and I promise you will find it to be a lot of fun and relaxing, too!

Life with pictures….2014

Life with pictures….2014

It’s important to me to capture every single moment that I can, I am not sure why I feel this way, but I do.

Maybe it is because life is so short that we miss so much in our everyday life, and we miss those special moments never to get them back.

I know I missed way to many years of my daughters growing up with the kind of work I do, that now I do not want to miss the growing up of my grandchildren. At one time I was an over the road truck driver being gone from home weeks at a time. Missing so much of the growth of my daughters, now that I am home everyday I do not want to miss this time with the grandbabies.

I will take pictures to keep the memory of the day or the event for a lifetime. I have trained the granddaughter pretty well so far how to pose for a picture but I think I need to work on her smile for the camera, just a little more.

I have an idea!

I have an idea!

While I was working last night, I thought maybe it would be fun to add a page on this blog that would be of a personal daily must do kind of thing. This is what I am thinking of doing and I would like some input from folks on it and if you would also be interested in doing the same.

Start a new page called the (Daily Do) and what will be on this page is one main word for each day.

Example: Laughter

The way I want this to play out is that we take the one word and we try to make it happened with people we talk to during our day. Sometimes it might just be one person you will find that needs the word or perhaps many. Then I want you to write a short comment in the post of one experience what happened when you used the word.

Lets start with this one word given here today and use this post as a sample post to see if it will work before I start a whole another page.

Rules on what you can do with the word:

1- you can use it with everyone you meet in a sentence, and see their reaction.

2- you can make someone do the word, and see their reaction.

3- you can do the word over and over again while talking to a person, and get their reaction.

I think this idea will be a lot of fun if we try it for a week each day.

Life is what comes next?

Life is what comes next?

I am sure this title has you wondering what path I am going to go with it.

In life we seem to always wonder what can happen next, especially when times are hard or we are having a bad day. I myself have had the same experience many times in life as it has moved along, but this is not about that nor is it about the after life when we’re gone.imagesFE1RGPI2

As people we have many good things that happen to us throughout life only to be shadowed by the bad ones. We seem to remember the worst days of life rather than the good days and the best days. We need to slow down, take time to enjoy all aspects of life, and really begin to live life each moment at a time. We need to stop looking at things so negatively and see the positive side of what it is. The old Ying & Yang theory really does exist in everything.positive-negative

I recently watched a video of a mother and her newborn son that was born without eyes and a mouth pallet. This poor first time mother was very scared, heart broken in many ways, full of fear of how her and her husband would be able to take care of their son. The doctors had no ideas what to do to help her but the amazing thing in the whole story it was her son that helped her. Let me give you just a small amount of the story of her troubles she was going through and how her son help her and many, many others see the positive side of life.

She would take him out in public, people would point and say terrible things about him, one women if told her how much of a bad person she was for not aborting him. This poor women had already been through so much then she was faced with the cold hearted nature of people, then it happened just like a miracle from God sent to this world to see, to hear, and to bring much needed joy to this mother. This little boy would since when someone would stare at him and he would giggle a giggle so sweet sounding that peoples hearts would open up with joy. With his giggle he opened eyes to see beyond the sadness of his situation and see the joy he has to offer this world and he did this all before he was one years old.Positive-over-Negative

I hope this story would also open your eyes to the positive things all around you, look for them and you will see them everywhere. It is so easy to see the negative side, a little harder to see the positive side, but I promise it comes easier the more you look for it. When you begin to do this more and more often a whole new live comes next.

Love the world, love your fellow man, be positive, look for the good things this life has to offer, and remember we’re only here for a short time so do it right.

Dads & Grandfathers it is up to us……..

BIKER_POPPY_L

Dads & Grandfathers it is up to us……..

We are losing the things that make America great at a rapid rate and it is up to us to turn it around.

The morals, respect of ones self, the caring for others, the helpfulness to others, and so on are on the way out. What we need to do is get back to teaching our children right from wrong, making them work for something they want, spend time with them each day, show them how to care, show them how to love,  show them respect and how to respect others. This all starts with us as parents and grandparents and it needs to be done, the other way is not working.

It seems that many think it is the schools job to do this, but it is our job first and we need to man up. We have lost our way of what it means to be role models for our kids. Instead we have put every thing into our work to support them and losing the time we need to spend with them in return. We end up losing them to the gangs, to the dealers, to the pimps, to the thugs and then to the jail system. What they need is us, they need us to care, they need us to protect them, they us to love them, they need us to be there for them and most of all they need us to teach them.

The question is are you MAN ENOUGH to do what is right for your kids and grandchildren? If you are, know right now, this is not going to be easy and it will be the biggest job you will ever do with the most rewards . You will save a life and make a good person in the end. Guys, it is up to us to do the right thing and set the examples for the next generations to come.

Screaming baby at nap time…..

The screaming baby at nap time…………

In the last few weeks my granddaughter has began the screaming fit for the afternoon nap time and I thought I would do a little research into this to see just how common this is. Well, as it turns out it is fairly common and a part of the toddlers way of learning how to put themselves to sleep. It is been for me way to many years without a baby around for me to remember if my own children did this but I can bet one of them did if I remember correctly.

If you are baby sitting a baby or (LITTLE MISS) then you might find the link that I attached to the heading of this helpful. I was glad to see that it is a normal thing that a lot of toddlers go through and ways to help them along. The thing is the strength we must have to endure this for the time being will depend on us. It will not be easy, I suggest investing in a set of ear plugs and hold your ground.
